Meet Team Slater You can count on us; Who said BEAN COUNTERS had to be boring?
Brett Slater - Partner No suit, no tie. Casual clothes but fastidious with knowledge and boutique service. 23 years since launching Slater, Brett’s still fully committed to his clients and the delivery of a service driven accounting firm that has all the bases covered. While he mightn’t do stuffy and boring well, Brett does do numbers and business structures to perfection. “For me it’s a mix of creativity and sums, as well as keeping up to date with the latest knowledge that makes life easier for the client.” It’s pure and accurate accounting with modern flair. His own workspace runs on an open-door policy so he’s accessible to staff and others. When Brett’s not working - and contrary to popular belief this does happen - you’ll find him sitting back with a Buddhist text, or down at his favourite gym pumping iron. You might also find him mountain biking or walking the dogs - Fitch and Rusty - or watching Little Britain and the delights of Derek and Clive. Music? Well - there’s Nickelback, Lucinda Williams, Pink, Seether, The Boss and a bunch of others. There’s also Sacred Earth, Dylan, U2, Eminem and Scribe.
Brad Feisst - Partner Quiet flair, cool exterior and rock solid with GST returns and accounting advice. Brad’s been a part of Team Slater for 8 years and was recently granted partnership status. Why? Because he knows his stuff and he knows the intricacies of the Slater machinery like the back of his hand. He’s also a detail oriented professional who partners in with Brett on the big and important decisions that drives the Slater machinery forward. Years of working with the team gives Brad the kind of edge and insight that facilitates good management, solid results performance and a very clear knowledge of client needs and concerns. He overseas everything from client service to communications, GST reports, financial statements and team and individual performance. Like Brett, he’s into delivering a modern and progressive accounting to clients with boutique quality service and statements. He and Brett complement each other perfectly and make Slater what it is today and what it will be tomorrow and in years to come. Music: U2, Bono, Linkin Park

Anne is a true “people person” and has an invaluable understanding of the Slater clients and the range of capabilities and services offered at Slater. She works in with clients and also advises the rest of the team on client issues and tasks that require attending to. Anne takes a genuine, caring interest in what matters to you and is able to impart this to others in the team with the kind of service commitment and authenticity Slater is known for. She’s also a true gourmet - whether it’s a rustic BBQ or vol au vents with delectable fillings, her creations are a cut above! You can’t beat Anne’s cakes or the homemade ice-cream which Brett has been known to demolish in one fell swoop! She’s also a true lover of design, culture and the contemporary life of Hamilton and The Waikato.

She’ll make the IRD and Family Support calls for the client and negotiate with a specialised understanding of the challenges facing modern New Zealand families and parents. She’ll leave no stone unturned and will employ all her investigative energies for our clients. Carolyn’s a demon at the bridge table and gets a real buzz out of being able to ring Slater clients to inform them “they’re getting a nice little unexpected refund from the IRD!” Carolyn loves visiting friends and family in Oz and in holiday periods can be found missing in action, sunning herself by a resort pool on the Gold Coast in Queensland.

You’ll find her working alongside Harsha, Lie and Beth as part of the financials team. Shareena has a Bachelor of Business Studies and is fluent in both English and Fiji Hindi. She loves to read and enjoys the Kiwi lifestyle and the beauty of Hamilton. She’s an avid movie watcher and loves her music too.
Paul McGlade - Accountant Paul’s one of the young guns in at Slaters and currently oversees the GST team. He’s of British and Japanese descent which gives him a broad insight that is vital for modern business practice and the new wave of accounting. He’s currently studying Japanese and Vietnamese and has a Bachelor of Business Studies in Accounting. Paul’s also a bit of an IT whizz and undertakes a lot of front end modernisation tasks with Brett and Phil around the Team Slater office. He keeps an eye out for the latest technologies and softwares that can serve the firm and also works on some of the IT stuff when the need arises. It’s great to have Paul around.
Janne Martinovich - Accountant Janne’s another one of the Team Slater working mums who channels her fastidious work energies into the GST returns and working with Brad, Jessica, Paul and other members of the crew. She’s in the office 9am-3pm. She loves her job and is currently working on a Diploma of Business Studies and when she’s not contributing to the Slater organisation she can be found taxi-ing her sports mad children around the Waikato to fixtures. Janne’s into life and loves horse-riding and netball. She’s the PTA treasurer and the assistant treasurer at her kids’ karate club. She also loves the sun and exercise and on days off you’ll likely find her out walking or jogging or sunning. And when it rains? She’s busy trying her hand at acrylic painting and pretty cool wearable arts creations. She’s also an organisational whizz. With a schedule like hers, she’d have to be!
Jessica Mora - Accountant Jessica joined Slaters in 2012 and works in the GST Team overseen by Paul. She's our informal group activities planner and often organises the international food lunches and staff birthday celebrations. Jess often takes time out to embrace voluntary service in the broader Hamilton and Waikato community and world. In at Slaters, we love that. She enjoys the outdoors and sport - both watching and playing, and also loves to sit down with a good book when she has the rare moment in time. She also loves hitting the road for a good country drive and singing along to her fave tunes while behind the wheel. A fantastic mum to her two kids, she describes them as “her life and her world.”

No need for steps or ladders or footstools when Jo’s around...Jo can reach heights where others fear to tread! If she’s not in at Slater keeping things spruced and streamlined, she’s hanging out with her family and her gorgeous auburn-haired kids around Hamilton.
Monika Essenhofer - Slater Office Manager It’s a long way from Austria and she loves the beauty, the peace and the picturesque nature of NZ. Monika’s incredible organisational talents are part of the modernisation process in at Slater. She’s an exceptional employee who is able to read the big picture requirements as well as oversee a thousand tiny details that make Slater just that little bit better than the standard accounting firm. Monika spent her working life in Austria (her native country) as a Chartered Accountant, where she ran her own company, so she fully comprehends the demands and the exactness of the professional duties of all the staff. In her last employment she wrote up a full training manual - and that was for fun in her spare time! We kid you not. She loves reading, movies, cooking/baking and everything that is red with white polka dots on it. Music? Everything between 1955-2013 including musicals!
