Brett has a fastidious accounting mind grounded in logic, and combines financial expertise with personable boutique service. He has many, many clients who have been with the firm since the very beginning.
Nearly 30 years since launching Slater Chartered Accountants, he's as committed as ever and runs a service-driven team who produce quality financial statements, GST, Statutory and Tax work for our many and varied clients. Brett's a no-nonsense talker and attracts longstanding clients who are keen to improve their business and tax issues with an honest and direct approach. Waikato born and bred, he's lived in Hamilton his whole life, and knows the business scene and the New Zealand financial landscape better than most.
While he mightn’t do stuffy and boring well, Brett does do numbers and business structures to perfection. “For me it’s a mix of creativity and sums, as well as keeping up to date with the latest knowledge that makes life easier for the client.” It’s pure and accurate accounting with modern flair. His own workspace runs on an open-door policy so he’s accessible to staff and others.
He loves to travel and over the past few years has redesigned the firm so it's fully converted to modern technological practices. All aspects of Slaters is now run in the cloud and this means greater communication and availability for clients.
He loves to travel and enjoys exploring other cultures and countries when he can get away from the office.
Brett's also a stickler for musicals and comedy and enjoys the delights of the Little Britain team, Monty Python, Blackadder and Chris Lilley.
Music? Birdy, Lucinda Williams, Pink, Seether, The Boss and a bunch of others. There’s also Sacred Earth, Dylan, U2, Eminem and Scribe.
